Driving the best auto insurance rates

Beginning April 1, 2008, car insurance companies will begin setting their own rates.

This means big changes for Massachusetts drivers. For the past 30 years rates were set by the Insurance Commissioner - now premiums will vary from company to company.

This is good news for our customers as we expect most will save money under the new system.

MORE DISCOUNTS

At ABM, we believe it is very important to be able to offer our customers a wide variety of discounts. That is why we have 5 of the top-rated insurance companies in the state - providing drivers with a variety of discounts.
Some discounts are required by law, but there are also many new discounts available including:
  • Multi-policy discount (auto and homeowner’s with the same company)
  • Customer Loyalty Credit (renewal credit)
  • Multi-car
  • Advanced Driver Training
  • Good Student/Student Away at School
  • Hybrid Vehicle
Group and other discounts will also be available. For a complete list of all available discounts please give us a call.

MORE OPTIONS

At ABM Insurance, we believe that our customers should have as many options as possible. This allows us to tailor the customers coverage to their unique needs.

The minimum coverages for a basic policy are still mandated by Massachusetts law and will not change. However, many insurance companies are offering new and additional coverages, such as:
  • Replacement Cost Coverage – Some companies will pay the cost to replace your car if it is a new model under a certain number of miles.
  • Loan/Lease Gap Coverage – Often, consumers with auto loans and leases can suffer financially if a loss occurs when they owe more in loan or lease payments than the car is worth. The insurance company will pay the actual cash value of your vehicle plus the difference on what you actually owe on the loan or lease.
  • Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Part – Massachusetts regulations require insurance companies to pay only for “after market” replacement parts. You can assure that your car will always be repaired with parts made by your car’s manufacturer.
  • Replacement Cost and Loss of Use for Rental Cars – If you have collision and comprehensive coverage on your policy, those coverages will extend to other private passenger cars (including a rental car or van) used with the permission of the owner.

MORE COMPANIES

As an independent agent, ABM Insurance looks for opportunities that give our customers the advantage. We use our experience and expertise to identify the insurance companies that offer the best solutions.

Something that sets us apart from most agencies is our ability to offer our customers choices from 5 different insurance companies - providing a wider range of discounts, options and coverages.

  • Arbella
  • Commerce
  • National Grange Mutual
  • Premier
  • Safety

Having multiple companies enables us to ensure you are receiving the right coverage at the best possible price.
Keep in mind, that quotes you get from insurance companies online will be generic quotes and not necessarily what you need in terms of coverage and limits.

Insurance companies generally sell insurance either through agents or direct marketing. Most insurance companies currently in Massachusetts sell insurance through agents. You should be aware there are two kinds of agents:

  • The captive agent who represents only one insurance company (Liberty Mutual, Amica, State Farm, and the like); and
  • The local independent agent, like ABM Insurance, generally represents several insurance companies and does not have a vested interest in selling you a policy from one particular company. That is why we represent 5 of the top-rated insurance companies in the state.
Experts say that consumers who do business with independent agents generally have an advantage during the claims process. Your agent can advocate for you when you have a claim. Further, when you work with and independent agent you can change your insurance company without changing your agent.

Let ABM Insurance save you time and money – by doing the work for you. Call us today at 978-534-5133 or email us at info@abminsurance.com.
